General Rights

Right to Free Education

Students are entitled to free primary and secondary education in public schools.

Right to Non-Discrimination

Students must not be discriminated against on account of race, gender, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic.

Student’s Right of Access to School Records

A student and his/her parent/guardian has, under the FERPA right, access to their educational records in addition to seeking correction of misleading or inaccurate contents.

Students are permitted to discuss broad topics and divergent views so long as within the curriculum requirements.

Right to Join the Governance Process

Students might be entitled to have a role in the school’s governance processes, such as the student councils.
